Peterloo massacre had 60-80K peacefully protesting for reform
The government sent in the army which caused a wave of protests across Britain

The government wanted to stop this

The Acts aimed to
Prevent radical newpaper
Large gatherings
And armed rebellion

The Training Provention Act
made weapons training meeting illegal

The Seizure of Arms Act
Legalised magistrates searching property for weapons

The Misdemeanours Act
Reduced chances for bail
to speed the justice administration

The Sedations Meetings
50 or more there must be a state governor

The Blasphemous and Seditious Libels Act
Prevents freedom of speech in regard to writing

The Newspaper and Stamp Duties Act

Extended and increased taxes to cover publications which had escaped duty by publishing opinion and not news.
